After the heaven and earth were first created, there were suns, moons, stars in the sky, mountains, rivers, plants and trees on the ground, even birds, beasts, insects and fish, but there was no human being. The world seemed to lack vitality.
One day, Nüwa walked on this desolate land, looking at the surroundings, filled with emotion. She thought that although the world was beautiful, it lacked the vitality of life. So, Nüwa decided to create a new kind of life - human beings.
Nüwa came to a riverbank, molded a clay figure. When she put it on the ground, the clay figure suddenly came to life and called her "Mom". Nüwa was very happy and continued to create many people in this way. Later, in order to speed up the process, Nüwa dipped a vine into the mud and splashed it around. Each drop of mud turned into a little person.
